Though I recently celebrated my 73nd birthday, I’ve only really been alive for 61 years because the summer I was 12 is when I was born again.  I had no idea  at that time about the precious Word which had power to change my life forever, but even in my ignorance, the work began.  The Lord directed me and gave me an irresistible desire for His life.   Choices were made which brought me to treasure and appreciate God’s presence in my life.  So today, I want to thank my Heavenly Father for the most extravagant (It cost Him everything!) birthday gift, the new life, the best gift of all!   Philippians 1:6, “ being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”  “Work” is such an appropriate term here because our Heavenly Father knows it will be a job to transform us through the power of the Word working in us by the Holy Spirit.  Becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ is the greatest honor of my life, and I’m so grateful that His mercy is new every single morning, since we need that mercy each day. Without Jesus, our lives would be meaningless because He is the author and finisher of our faith, and daily we should thank Him for His entry into the Earth which allows us to experience real life, the faith life!
